SinCLA Members can submit stories for Angel City Beat now through May 31st.

Sisters in Crime LA has announced the assignment for its 2024 anthology, entitled Angel City Beat. Members can submit any mystery story under 5000 words, set in greater Los Angeles, that can be linked to a beat – cops on the beat, reporters' beats, the beat of LA's music scenes, even the beating of waves at Zuma Beach. The submission window is open and closes May 31st.

All stories must be original and not previously published.

  1. Stories should be between 1500 to 5,000 words, tops!

  2. Submissions are blind. This means the author’s name must not appear anywhere on the attached manuscript. So scrub that byline and make sure your identity is nowhere to be found on the pages submitted.

In the subject line, indicate the title of the short story. In the body of the email, include your name, email, and contact information, the name of your story and word count.
