• Postponement of Tax Filings and Payments: President Biden has signed a major disaster declaration for the LA County wildfires. With this declaration the IRS has announced tax filing and payment relief to October 15th for residents of LA County. • Tax Casualty Losses: Taxpayers who have suffered losses due to the fires may be eligible to take tax casualty losses on their returns in the year of loss or prior year (so may apply to returns filed this year). Please find a short summary attached.
